Dr Alexander Zhang is a fellowship-trained ENT surgeon whose practice bridges two areas of high demand in Western Sydney: advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and paediatric ear, nose, and throat care. He completed a dedicated rhinology and skull base fellowship that provided concentrated exposure to complex sinonasal pathology, and has since developed a strong parallel interest in managing the common but often distressing ENT conditions that affect children: recurrent tonsillitis, obstructive sleep-disordered breathing, chronic middle ear effusions, and adenoid hypertrophy.
What distinguishes Dr Zhang within the specialty is his contribution to surgical education. He is a published textbook author on endoscopic sinus surgery and has been invited as faculty at surgical training courses both in Australia and internationally. This teaching role reflects a depth of anatomical knowledge and technical refinement that directly benefits his patients: he approaches each procedure with the structured precision of someone who has had to teach it step by step to other surgeons. His writing has helped shape the way trainees learn endoscopic sinonasal anatomy and operative technique.
Dr Zhang consults at Miranda, Drummoyne and Hunters Hill. Families and GPs in those areas value having a surgeon of his calibre available locally, particularly for paediatric cases where parents prefer to avoid long journeys to metropolitan teaching hospitals. He takes time to explain conditions and surgical options in plain language, which parents of young patients find especially reassuring.
GPs and specialists can refer patients for consultation with Dr Zhang at Miranda, Drummoyne or Hunters Hill. Referrals can be faxed, emailed, or submitted online.
